With the support of thousands of UFT retirees, Retiree Advocate/UFT won the election in the UFT Retired Teachers Chapter, and we have forced UFT leadership to change its position on Medicare Advantage. The RTC is now a real chapter that represents its members' interests. That is a nice outcome, but more work needs to be done.
As Retiree Advocate members take on responsibility for building the chapter, the UFT leadership sometimes allows us to move forward, but often blocks our way. Retiree Advocate/UFT , not just the officers but the organization, the caucus, is more needed than ever to campaign, to protect our healthcare, to advocate for members, to fight for our rights and benefits, democratize our union, get us involved in the fight to protect our rights.
And there is the 2027 Retired Teachers Chapter Election, and the 2028 unionwide election.
Your donations will go towards the 2025 UFT Election Campaign, including live campaign events, Zoom events, signage, buttons, printed and electronic media, paper, ink, website maintenance, social media ads, print ads, etc.
